CAP: Certified Addiction Professional
This certification is required in the state of Florida to work in the addiction field.
The professional must complete:
- One year of classes
- 6,000 hours working with chemically dependent individuals:
- Prescription drugs, narcotics, opiates, alcohol nicotine, caffeine, Any drug introduced into the body that is abused.
- 3 years working with individuals with behavioral problems and mental health issues on a daily basis in the field 40 hours a week.
